Research Interests

Dr. Redinbaugh is a Research Plant Molecular Biologist with the USDA/ARS and member of the multidisciplinary maize virus research program in Wooster. Her primary research interest is identify and elucidate the molecular mechanisms underlying the genetic and biological bases of virus resistance and tolerance in maize. Current approaches to understanding the molecular basis of virus resistance include projects to define virus replication and distribution of viruses in resistant and susceptible maize germplasm, and identification of maize proteins that interact specifically with viruses. We are also using molecular techniques to identify, map and isolate maize genes for resistance to several viruses.
